  • A mobile app is being developed to help prevent HIV among transgender women by connecting them with supportive peers anytime and anyplace. Called Transwoman Connected, the app is being created by California-based dfusion in partnership with Portland State University and support from a National Institutes of Health grant.

Mandatory HIV testing and the disclosure of medical information without consent are contrary to international best practices and violate fundamental human rights, the rights activists said.

  • ViiV Healthcare reported the discovery of a new experimental HIV attachment inhibitor that was effective in treating people with “highly drug-resistant HIV.” In the BRIGHTE Phase 3 study (in which ViiV was a participating partner), researchers found that a drug called fostemsavir was able to control the viral load in about half the study’s participants
