  • Given the slipperiness of time, it is not surprising that 2017 played out like a sequel to 2016….these are the "you-want-a-piece-of-this?" challenges that should motivate us to take action and make things happen. That's what we do in medicine, take action and make things happen, and for those of us who care for people touched by the HIV epidemic, it is our obligation.

Renny was going to reveal three secrets to the love of her life — one; that she had been a cocaine addict when they married; two, that she was HIV-positive and had hidden that crucial bit of information for 10 years; and, three, that she had been deliberately creating trouble in her marriage so as to deny her husband his conjugal rights, and therefore somehow protect him from the virus.

  • The eighth annual POZ 100 list is dedicated this year to celebrating women. In the United States, women represent about a quarter of people living with HIV. Clearly, the idea that HIV affects only men who have sex with men is a myth. That said, because of this long-standing myth, women are often ignored or dismissed as an afterthought in the larger discussions surrounding HIV/AIDS.
