This piece by a 2014 AVAC Fellow marks the latest efforts by Ugandan civil society to secure pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) access. Author Charles Brown is an advocate, based at the Infectious Diseases Institute (IDI), who spent the last year and a half advocating for PrEP rollout for groups at high-risk of HIV infection including young women, sex workers, men who have sex with men and serodiscordant couples in Uganda.
